The first Congressional bill to end marijuana prohibition is now in Congress -- please support it!
H.R. 2306, the Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act of 2011, would remove marijuana from the federal Controlled Substances Act and limit the federal government's role in marijuana enforcement to cross-border or interstate smuggling. States would be able to legalize and regulate marijuana, or to continue to prohibit it, as they individually choose.
Please use our web form to contact your US Representative and your two US Senators in support of this historic bill. Please follow-up by calling their offices too -- if you don't know their numbers (or aren't sure who they are), you can reach them by calling the Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. And please use our tell-a-friend form to spread the word.

Collateral benefit
A collateral benefit of removing Federal involvement in marijuana policy would be to get the DEA out of the way when it comes to the production of industrial hemp. Though it is not technically illegal to grow hemp and 8 states have approved its cultivation, the DEA must issue a license to grow it, which they have refused to do. (Apparently, they think it would be too hard to tell the difference between hemp and its 'dangerous' cousin, marijuana.) Two farmers are now suing to try to force the DEA to issue licenses, but given the history of DEA compliance with even its OWN recommendations ...
I'm sure that everyone reading this is at least somewhat familiar with hemp, but for a little more information, read my short articles on the uses of hemp and its current legal status in the US (every other modern industrial country ALLOWS its cultivation!).
OVERGROW!
Legalize marijuana
All reports in Montana show that teen use of marijuana has decreased since the implementation of medical marijuana. Please legalize and tax marijuana and let it be used as the natural medicine that it was put here for. Thank you!
Legalize It!
I feel this would be a step in the right direction toward making Pot work to help our damaged economies. Marijuana is the safest drug with actual benefits for the user as opposed to alcohol which is dangerous, causes addiction, birth defects, and affects literally every organ in the body. Groups are organizing all over the country to speak their minds on reforming pot laws. I drew up a very cool poster for the cause which you can check out on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/01/vote-teapot-2011.html Drop in and let me know what you think!
worthless state Reps.
I live in Alabama where our state reps are all Republicans. I write to them all every week with my concerns. Every single one of them have replied and have NEVER agreed with anything I have said or asked about including this subject. They, like the rest of the republicans, do whatever THEY want and not what the VOTERS have wanted. Like many people in Alabama, even the ones who voted republican, are tired of the way they represent us and will be out when we get to vote again in 2012. Who do they think they work for anyway? We The People need to vote out every person in Washington and the State Houses and get ALL new people in there who actually care what THE PEOPLE who vote want them to do. Their "personal" opinions don`t matter at all when they represent the public. That is what "Public Servant" means and it is time we remind them of that!

yes they are public servants,
yes they are public servants, but don't be fooled by this republican democrat two party facade. its about as real as pro wrestling. they act like they hate each other but behind the scenes they are friends and go out for drinks. look at our illegitimate foreign born president. he is democrat and now is going to start cracking down on big grow ops of medical marijuana. our country has been hijacked and bought out by the global bankers. they want weed and other drugs illegal so the cia can ship them in and make money. pot prohibition is a huge conspiracy started by dupont and timber and cotton companies who outlaw hemp too. its time people wake up to the 2 party system. its only one more choice than communism!
