On Thursday, April 1, ABC
aired a special report by Peter Jennings that has drawn praise from observers
in the drug reform community and an attack in print by the avid Congressional
drug warrior Rep. Mark Souder (R-IN), leading opponent of medical marijuana
(see article above) and author of the infamous drug provision of the Higher
Education Act.
While we are not able to
fully report on the Jennings special this week due to time constraints,
we thought we would refer you to the new blog Grassroots Buzz, started
by former DRCNet HEA campaign coordinator Kris Lotlikar, for info and links
to news passages about the special and ways to write ABC to send positive
feedback to counter Souder's congressional demagoguery. Just visit
http://www.grassrootsbuzz.com
and scroll down to the April 7 post, "Souder Is Outraged (Again)."
