Our friends at the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union attended the international harm reduction conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, this week, and have brought some of it to the rest of us through a new video:

I'm playing devil's advocate here, but it's important to note how the process isn't as simple as you'd think. You can't take some pen and say "marijuana is legal now". There's going to be a long process of understanding how to do it correctly with minimal complications.

Finally. Someone who really gets the point. It's so hard to hear all these people who are supposedly on our side repeatedly and systematically attack anyone making attempts at grassroots reform.

Those individuals are causing more harm to our effort than any propaganda put out by the drug warriors. They are suppressing people's will to stand up for what is right and it's absolutely tragic. I'd say it's one of the most insidious and clever side effects of the war on drugs: the demoralization of our side to the point that they start telling everyone else to stop fighting.

Alcohol was prohibited in the early 1900's, but that was a huge failure, and the entire nation rebelled. If not for that, Alcohol would be illegal. It's better to have one mind-altering substance legal than two.
