Law Enforcement: This Week's Corrupt Cops Stories

Posted in:

A former Cleveland cop heads to the slammer for protecting cocaine shipments, and a former Georgia narc pleads guilty to stealing $80,000. Let's get to it:

In Akron, Ohio, a Cleveland police officer was sentenced February 26 to 10 years in federal prison for using his official position to protect drug runners for a cocaine distribution ring. Officer Zyonko Sarlog, 37, was arrested in August and pleaded guilty in November to money laundering and cocaine conspiracy charges. Prosecutors had asked for a longer sentence, citing among other things, the allegation that he used his mother to transport drug money.

In Rome, Georgia, the former head of the Bartow County Narcotics Task Force pleaded guilty Wednesday to stealing more than $80,000 from the sheriff's office. That money was seized from criminal suspects. As a captain in the Bartow County Sheriff's Office from 2004 through January 2007, Brenton Garmon, 36, oversaw money seized by the drug and canine units. But instead of depositing all funds in the appropriate accounts, he embezzled $80,493 for his own use. He pleaded guilty to one count of embezzling and faces up to 10 years in prison when sentenced in May.

To protect and serve

I am not naive enough to believe all of law enforcement is corrupt. I believe many would like to see prohibition laws repealed and just be able to do what they signed up for. Unfortunately, many see this as an opportunity to serve themselves. The DEA would be out of business if the drug laws were to be repealed and I would expect them to lie, cheat and steal to preserve their cushy jobs rather than work for a living. It is just to bad that the front line and (for the most part) upright force is subjected to upholding these corrupt laws. I could tell by the demeanor and the lack of eye contact (looking at the floor when I looked at them) that many of the officers drafted by the MDEA when I was arrested did not wish to be doing what they were doing to this peaceful citizen.

To Protect & Serve is a JOKE

Law Enforcement are ignorant of the law that they supposedly enforce. Here's an example & I am confident every alleged STATE has a law that governs Speeding, but how many of US have bothered to read the law for ourselves - instead WE TRUST ! NOT ME - I will read & study the law for myself!

In the supposed "The State of Texas" Texas Trans. Code § 201.904. is the statute that governs SPEED SIGNS.

Texas Trans. Code § 201.904. SPEED SIGNS.
"The dept. shall erect & maintain on the highways & roads of this state appropriate signs that show the maximum lawful speed for commercial motor vehicles, truck tractors, truck trailers, truck semitrailers, & motor vehicles engaged in the business of transporting passengers for compensation or hire (buses)."

Did you understand that? It applies to "motor vehicles engaged in the business of transporting passengers for compensation or hire."

Would the opposite sex lie to you? Would an Attorney lie to you? Would a govt. worker lie to you?
SO IFF a govt. worker that is an Attorney of the opposite sex - what chance do you have of learning the truth? Slim to none!!

Read the laws for yourself & you will find out that the govt. is lying to you!

Can you handle the truth - THERE ARE NO STATE GOVTS. - want proof!
Go to the - then click on the World Factbook & look up the United States - arrow down to the GOVERNMENT section &
you will find 50 Administrative districts & Wash. D.C. - oh yeah did you notice the map with no State boundaries???

Need more proof -

go to google & type Federal Agencies - pick A-Z Index of U.S. Government Departments and Agencies (A):
NOW pick you state of choice

NOW go to T for Texas
go to Texas Homepage

Now Texas State, County and City Websites

Now go to Territories of the United States

Need more proof - try
On the left hand side of the page - under the Official Government Sites
pick The State of Texas & your back at

Thanks. That is an informative post. I like your way of thinking.
