preposterous SCarolina story from 23AUG08

Submitted by David Borden on
I found this in the local paper while visiting my family in Augusta GA CHARLESTON --- North Charleston police have scored a major pot bust, seizing 500 pounds of marijuana with a street value of more than $2 million. Police who got a tip from federal authorities chased a van with New York license plates from an industrial park near the Charleston International Airport on Wednesday. The chase ended when the van's driver hit a tree and ran away on foot, The Charleston Post and Courier reported. Police also took five guns, including an assault rifle. Authorities are still looking for the driver. Police said there was so much marijuana they couldn't let reporters see it because the smell would overpower them. They showed pictures of the haul instead.
