Off Center Media is looking for interns to assist in archival research and help out on shoots for Emily and Sarah Kunstlerâs documentary feature, âDisturbing the Universeâ (www.disturbingtheuniverse.com).
The Kunstlers run Off Center Media (www.off-center.com), a non-profit media company that produces advocacy videos that document and expose injustices in the criminal justice system. Emily went to film school and Sarah went to law school and their work combines legal and video advocacy. In 2000, they produced âTulia, Texas: Scenes from the Drug War,â a short documentary that exposed a racist and unlawful drug sting that imprisoned twenty percent of the black population of a small Texas town. This film lead to the exoneration of everyone arrested.
You will work closely with the team to help bring the film to completion. We are looking for highly motivated, dedicated, and passionate interns who can work as part of our small team in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. This is a great way to make connections and see how a complicated documentary is brought through to completion. This position requires a minimum of two full days per week time commitment.
In your response, please include your resume and a brief cover letter. Please respond by February 9th, 2007.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
The Disturbing the Universe staff
