Dean Becker of the Drug Truth Network is in Washington today to give copies of his book, "To End the War on Drugs," to every member of the House and Senate. There is a press conference at 10:00am this morning in room 340 of the Cannon House Office Building, with Dean, members of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition and Students for Sensible Drug Policy, sponsored by Rep. Beto O'Rourke (D-TX).

Phil reviewed Dean's book last night.

I was also on Dean's radio show last week talking about my two new papers; check out the audio or transcript of the interview, which also featured Judge James P. Gray.

The article is about one thing and the photo of another author with another book about the drug war.The former Seattle top cop was on TV last night(Sept2)promoting his own book which deals with how the war on drugs was at the root of the militarisation of America's police.I'm sure both books are worthwhile reading and another step in what has become a nation wide police insider task force that opposes the drug war.No matter how many addicts like myself take to media and the streets to try to regain sanity in society.Nothing is as powerful as a one time drug warrior who has seen the futility and the horror and seen the light. As the drug war has escalated,so has the forces that meet the supply needs of a large part of today's society.People must be reminded and reminded again that what we have now isn't the norm.Prohibition has been a 100 year experiment in human control that has failed on every level. It has killed more people and destroyed far more lives than any drug ever could. We need to educate and to treat where needed and to live and let live.
