The good side won that debate.

Im glad the video of this is

Im glad the video of this is finally up. The over-riding message i got from this is, Elliot Spitzer seems to honestly believe that no one (New York especially) gets jailed for simple drug use. He is either ignorant of the facts or being willfully disingenuous.  Also Julian Assange brought up the idea that individual drug use should be protected by the 1st amendment, because in order to make free speech we must also be able to have freedom of thought to formulate that speech, which of course is infringed upon when laws seek to control & prevent certain thought processes....Has anyone ever used 1st amendment to fight a CSA violation?

It is odd that an otherwise smart man would say such a ridiculous thing.  Even if he was right, and no one went to jail, they still get criminal records and all that that entails.  But that he argued that the threat of jail was necessary to persuade people says it all.  He wants drug users to live in fear of the government.  What a  sick man.
