Vote for Legalization on Republican Online Forum

The new trend of holding online votes for policy ideas continues to thrive, and this time it's the republicans who want to hear from us:

America deserves a Congress that respects the priorities of the people. Unfortunately, Washington hasn't been listening. Let's change that. America Speaking Out is your opportunity to change the way Congress works by proposing ideas for a new policy agenda. Republicans have offered solutions, and we have our principles, but this is a new venue for us to listen to you. So Speak Out.

You can vote for ideas you like or create your own, and as you might guess, ideas like legalizing marijuana are getting a lot of support. Please take a few minutes to register and use your up and down votes to help push our issue to the top.

A strong showing for legalization in a right-wing forum will send a powerful message that the drug war is being rejected by Americans across the political spectrum.

Big Fail

Website sucks! Would not let me register!

SAME HERE!!! Crappy website.

SAME HERE!!! Crappy website.

Won't let me vote...

Says the site is too busy...

Eh... Way too many liberals

Eh... Way too many liberals trolling that site for MJ legalization to be taken seriously by conservatives. As long as social issues dominate the Republican platform, we won't see any support from the right wing, with the exception of libertarians like Rand Paul.

conservatives should deal with arguments for MJ legalization

on their own merits regardless of who makes them. If they call their site America Speaking Out that's an invitation to anyone to respond. I don't expect them to support cannabis legalization but they have a moral obligation to be clear on why they they think alcohol use is ok but cannabis users are criminals, and they and the Democrats are failing miserably to live up to that obligation. They are being blatantly hypocritical stonewallers content to let the guns of cops do all the talking they think is necessary.

Who is America Speaking Out?

Who are the backers of this website? Are there similar versions of this website backed by known Republican groups?

The backers of that site are

Republican members of congress. Did you even read Scott's post before commenting?

I'm pro-choice on EVERYTHING!

it seems a bit dishonest to

it seems a bit dishonest to flood a website for conservatives and make it all about weed so that people will Think the right cares about it.

Sorry!

This site has many conservatives on it. The others should know their view is really the opposite of conservative! Keeping the drugs illegal assures the drug dealers free access to their kids at school! The prohibition of alcohol failed, yet they want to continue the same enforcement ideas for this problem. This makes the kids more vulnerable, not less.

And guess who else does not want the drug war to end....THE DEALERS! Those big profits, they are making by selling your kids weed, at school, are high because theirs is a dangerous, illegal, occupation!

Ron Paul makes very good arguments as to why the Libertarian in him makes him call for an end to the "drug wars" There are more casualties, than just the drug users, in this war.

we can all win the drug war

we all know that we are spending to much on the war of drugs, we need the money back to our schools, roads, emergency workers, and maintence work on growing and making a better place for ourselves and the generations to come.
