World Record Marijuana Crop Gets Blown Up By Fighter Jets
What do you do if you find the world's largest marijuana stash? Call in the airforce!
The crack teams discovered 236.8 tons of cannabis buried in vast trenches in the desert. The drugs had a minimum street value of £225 million, and weighed more than 30 double-decker buses, officials said.
Lieutenant General Abdul Hadi Khalid, Afghanistan's deputy interior minister, said: "This is a new world record in the global war on drugs."
…
British fighter jets were called in from nearby Kandahar Airfield to smash open the underground stores. A Nato spokesman said the planes dropped three 1,000lb bombs on the trenches, before troops from the commando unit known as 333 doused the wreckage with petrol and set them alight. [scotsman.com]
There's something tragically ironic about using fighter jets to launch air strikes on a plant that's never killed anyone in the history of the world. Are you having fun yet, brave desert drug soldiers? Someone get these guys some volleyball nets before they nuke a poppy field.
Embrace the irony
because it will soon become the commonplace in America if Barack Obama or John McCain is elected and escalates the shooting war on the Mexican border. The highly organized, well armed and paramilitarized Mexican drug gangs, that have rapidly grown in both large and small towns in America since and thanks to the 2005 Combat Meth Act, will require air strikes to dislodge from our cities once they start retaliating against us for escalating their drug war.
Terrorist Numbers
Doesn’t this heinous military assault against cannabis plants work to increase the number of terrorists in Afghanistan?
I can see Lieutenant General Abdul the Pot Farmer, who’s just lost this year’s total hash plant crop, saying to himself, “you know, maybe what they say about these Americans is true. I think I’ll round up my 437 male relatives and kick some butt.” …instantly, 437 John Dillinger types dressed as Afghanis are poised to wreak new havoc throughout Afghanistan.
And what’s this attack going to do for Afghanistan’s tourist trade? Will anyone want to visit Afghanistan if there’s a hash shortage?
The twist is that the U.S. military has destroyed 236.8 tons of cannabis, but they can’t really touch the Afghani opium crop because the entire Afghan national economy subsists on opium production and sales. So what message does this act of violence upon peaceful little ol’ marijuana send to the innocent little school child back in the U.S. of A?
Maybe aside from making every school kid think that the commandos were too ripped on smoke to evacuate the area on schedule; or that this stash should go into the Guinness Book of World Records as the biggest joint that anybody ever lit up; perhaps the little ones are being encouraged by our federal government to stop smoking pot, and instead, smoke opium! A really smoooooooth smoke.

Hi Al
I saw an author on a book tv kind of thing recently who said the Afghan share croppers, who borrow seed money from the gangsters, are forced to turn over their daughters into slavery to the gangsters when the drug warriors plow under the farmer's opium crop. Girl children being worth less as workers to farmers but worth a lot more to predator gangsters are the preferred trade.
One of America's pretenses for going into Afghanistan was to stop the Taliban's treatment of women. Now our drug war is facilitating child slavery.
The hashish version of this story.
Record Kandahar drug bust comes as rude awakening in hashish heaven
Hurt a farmer...
..make another enemy. So there will be less Afgan,Afgani on the market. Then ,of course, there will be more of whatever else to fill the void. This is truely federal price fixing at it's best! I wonder, why did they wait till after the harvest to hit? The crop was obviously in plain sight till buried. BIGGER , BIGGER HEADLINES?
Actually
I have read that it was 236 tonnes of hashish.
Does anyone know how much acreage of pot it takes to make that much hashish?
What an insult
Was this on American soil? If not, then we just committed a very horrible act as that could have been someone's hard earned work. And even if it was on American soil, they still have no right destroying nature like this. Who cares if it gets people high, it's enjoyable and isn't dangerous at all. Cigarettes kill people 100% more than marijuana. When are we going to attack the cigarette companys with airstrikes? And how about alcohol? That is also worse for you than smoking weed. The government is ran by clowns as you can clearly see.
Some day they'll get it right.
One of these days those cops are actually going to learn how to use it. You can smoke it, eat it, use it for food or clothing (even shelter and fuel) but blowing it up? That's just not what you're supposed to do with it!
I'd like to know what the us
I'd like to know what the us would do if some country decided to have a "war on tabbacco" and decided to bomb north carolina, or decided to drop pesticides all over evry plant? we'd declare war on them, and the world would side with us, sayin that the offending nation was a "rogue" state! Sometimes I wish we would be invaded by an advanced alien race, who would treat the us (and all the world's) gov't the way we treat the so called '3rd world'. and then the aliens could hand over all the criminal politicians cops feds and drug warriors to the people for true justice, preferably involving forced labor provided for every peron ever hurt by the insane policies foisted upon them.

bmnk,
bm,b,
237 tonnes
bastards, that was scotlands yearly supply.
I won't do what you tell me!
I can think for myself and don't need you to tell me what is good and bad for me. Fact is I will do what I know is right for me and if that means you spend your taxes seeking me and trying me in a court of law and then housing me and feeding me to protect me from something I know is right for me then you are the loser and the opressor. Think about it, dude! I am not going to change no matter how hard you try and I can get pot in prison almost as easy as I can get it as a free man. The only difference is, I'll be kicking back on your buck rather than on the buck I earned!
Um, tax $50 an ounce on the 240 Million pounds estimated is $192,000,000,000 in tax revenue alone vs $20,261,556,000 spent to arrest and incarcerate people for an average of only 6mos per year! In 10 years time between the tax savings and the additional tax income not only could we save the economy but we could eliminate the entire national dept and start making loans where we get paid interest insted of us paying interest! This does not take into consideration all of the other invironmentally friendly, energy resources from the cash crop nor the jobs and income it would generate in the USA. Levis Jeans made in the USA - again from hemp (guaranteed for life) $60 a pair! Sold worldwide!
LOL Until the US government does one thing that actually makes since, FU - I won't do what you tell me!
ya
screw the government they can lick my balls, while im smoking the ganja...all we can do is jus keep growing and smoking it maybe eventually they get up off that stick in there ass and legalize it because they look like fuking idi ots because the whole world pretty much smokes..for me i dont know one person that doesnt smoke it ..oh wait my boss lol and its only cus he gets drug tested i bet, also he knows we do it and that we work better high.
legalize marijuana
i believe that marijuana is a cash crop that if legalized in all states of the U.S. that our dept in money will be gone in a few years and is possible that the U.S. can be able to support more things later in life.
