As I'm sure most of you have heard, the Mexican government has sent the army to the US border to referee the fight between two cartels for the US drug market. We've all heard about the kidnappings and murders and the fact that the cops are taking sides. This is drug war politics at its very best. No-one knows who they can trust and the worst offenders are in law enforcement. Now the bad guys(?)are killing women and children. This evidently used to be a no-no for Mexican bad guys, but no more. The particular incident in the story I read stated that the fighting started over an attempt to kill a high ranking police official. I guess he was on the wrong side, whatever side that was. The assassins killed a young boy and when they eventually found the person they were looking for they killed him, his wife and daughter and badly wounded his young son. This is really nasty business and is just a precursor to what we are going to see as the drug war progresses. This is how drug turf is divided.
