Prince of Pot Pleads Out

Marc Emery, the self-styled Prince of Pot has accepted a plea bargain which would see him serve five years in a Canadian prison. It's difficult to gauge how much influence the numerous petitions and letter campaigns had in the justice system offering this deal. Mr.Emery definitely made the right move here as it avoids the precedent his extradition would have caused. It still sucks that a foreign country came into our country and had one of our citizens jailed. With the recent decisions of the Harper government to allow US law enforcement to possess fire arms here and to basically do what ever they want, it's lucky he got a deal at all.
