Summary of the past two months of work for
The International Network Of People Who Use Drugs (Inpud) and
User Involvement In The 2007 IHRC in Warsaw

Dear fellow Drug User Activists,

During the past two months we've been organizing International Drug User Activists to prepare the
founding of Inpud. At the same time International Drug User Activists have worked to create a
fundamental base from witch we can work to have structural involvement of people who use drugs
in the International Conference On The Reduction Of Drug Related Harm (13-17 May, Warsaw
Poland).

This is what we're busy with:

A working group of International Drug User Activists is preparing the founding of the network. The
founding meeting will be held during the 2th Inpud Congress on 13 May in Warsaw.

International activists participate in the IHRC Executive Program Committee and the IHRC
Medical Committee. We've ensured User involvement in the IHRC program by having User
Activist presentations in the conference plenaries, majors, concurrent and living room sessions.
Below you find info on the plenaries and majors. I will gather the info about concurrent and living
room sessions in the week coming.

Thanks to the IHRA/DIFD funding we were able to provide 10 International User Activists with an
Inpud scholarship.

5 International User Activists are preparing the Inpud website. The site will be officially released
very soon now. Paul Cherashore stepped back from the working group to be able to concentrate on
his other activities for Warsaw. Arie Rahadi from Indonesia joined the group.

Second fase

We now enter the next fase in our preparations for the founding of Inpud and our involvement in
the IHRC. This are some of the items we'll work on it the next two months:

The work to found Inpud.
Launch Inpud website
Prepare the 2th Inpud Congress
Prepare and promote skills building sessions
Inpud@IHRC media project
Program of User Activists presenting at the 2007 IHRC
And lots more!

I'll call you for this. You'll hear soon of me again!

All the best,
Stijn Goossens
