The Vancouver Province newspaper listed it's years top ten stories today.Fri.Dec.28,2007.#3 dealt with a teacher that shared his stash with a couple of concert goers.We had to jump all the way to#10 to find the drug war that's been in the news all year and has the gunfire and death toll of a world class gang scene.The top ten news makers started with serial killer and self appointed drug eradicator;Robert"Willie"Picton.The B.C. association of social workers wants to know what the government is doing with the children it's seizing from grow-ops.The B.C.governments record on children and the ministry of child welfare and minister Tom Christensen in particular have a dismal record on just about every aspect of what they do.The fact that our child poverty rate is the worst in the country while the government has spent fortunes on studies,surveys inquiries and an opulent refurbishing of their offices while doing as little as possible on the implementation of a list of must doe's that sprung from the judicial inquiry,leaves one disgusted.The police reported the arrest of the shooter in the Xmas day killing in Nanaimo.It's been a pretty slow day in the drug war.Benazir Bhutto's assassination has the news pretty much obsessed.
