The most ignorant thing I've ever heard

Submitted by David Borden on
The federal Conservative government of Steven Harper,Released a report comdeming the current mandatory release program. In the most inane statement I've ever heard, panel chairman Rob Sampson said:"It just doesn't make sense to release someone from prison because the time on the clock is up"?Sampson claims that:"it makes sense, intuitively",to have earned parole.Mr.Sampson makes no suggestions as to how prison guards are to deal with hard core criminals who have zero interest in programs. He also fails to deal with the success rate of current "in house",treatment programs,or the way in which different levels of security are used to give even the hard core inmates something to lose.As usual, the government of Harper et al is long on bombast and void of anything else. The fact that the report was commissioned by Public Safety Minister,Stockwell Day ,Explains a good deal but nothing can account for the calling for indefinite sentencing, which this is pretty much calling for.I've suggested that Sampson and the others be put in maximum security for a week and then sent to a minimum security camp to play golf. Then they can tell us if the current system has merit.
