At 11:15 Sunday,Dec.9,2007. The jury in the trial of serial torture murder suspect:"Robert(Willie)Picton ended 10 days of deliberations, halted at one point because the judge erred in his charge to the jury.He says he fixed it.A few days later,we get a reduced guilty verdict of 2nd degree murder.Like the two current investigations, the victims were mostly young aboriginal girls. The Edmonton case is strikingly similar to the Picton case. After 20 years those communities are still struggling to have the cases re-opened as serial cases.meanwhile,Mr.Harper,is still ignoring a very thorough researgh paper that wants working women better protected by at least being able to talk to a trick before she gets into a vehicle with a stranger.Mr.Harper,who's government has cut womens programs to the bone.Is showing no interest. The Conservatives don't see the homeless and the working poor. They want women back in the home with the children.Be nice if they could make that possible.Their recent passing of a bill requiring government picture ID to vote has effectively cut of a whole segment of society from their franchize rights under the charter. The fact this went through paliament without a hoitch.Shows me non of the current crop of politicians sees the poor as equal citisens.
