Militarization of police forces/Atlanta woman

A very good editorial by David Borden, as usual. The militarization of virtually all US police forces is not good. I remember a friend of mine from youth, who always wanted to be a soldier--like his eventual father-in-law, he dreamt of the military. Then, he could not qualify for the military because of some weird heart thing. He is still alive today, but the military would not accept him. So he became a cop, but a good cop. I've always wondered how many frustrated military men became cops, and I bet that there is a fair number. Relevant to what David Borden wrote about the murder of the 92 year old in Atlanta, I'm reminded of I think Jefferson's words that the tree of liberty must from time to time be fertilized, with human blood. I think Jefferson said the "blood of tyrants", which is right as rain of course, and I would add "the blood of good men" too. The brave old lady probably died as good a death as any soldier could die--firing on the enemy. This population is so damn brainwashed. The drug prohibition takes another victim, but a victim that stood up for her rights.
