Presenters: Mike Corral: Court qualified expert witness and agricultural director of WAMM has been cultivating marijuana in Santa Cruz County for 35 years. He has consulted with and advised numerous patients and organizations in the U.S. and internationally. Including the Ministry of Health of Israel in it’s effort to establish a government sponsored Medical Marijuana program. His expertise is in all phases of marijuana production. Valerie Leveroni Corral: The co-founder the Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana. Since 1993, WAMM has served thousands of critically ill members of our community with organic medical marijuana on a donation basis. She served as director of WAMM for 17 years. She has worked with Mike Corral to cultivate heirloom, medical marijuana for more than 35 years WAMM is a revolutionary collective, the only one of its kind in the nation. The federal court calls WAMM the "gold standard of the medical marijuana movement." From our grassroots foundation we have built a truly unique social movement. At the same time we have witnessed the death of at least one member a month from terminal illness. Some would have been alone and without resources. In these cases, and whenever asked, she attends to needs of our dying friends, including organizing our caregiver team to help WAMM members greet death with as comfortable and noble a transition as possible. Lucido graduated from University of Michigan Medical School in 1974, and completed his Family Practice Residency through University of California at Davis in 1977. He has been practicing Family and General Medicine in Berkeley, California since 1979, and just celebrated 30 years in his Berkeley medical office. Since the passage of the California Compassionate Use Act of 1996, he has also been performing Medical Cannabis evaluations, and has written and lectured on the subject. In 2004, he co-authored the widely read article "Implementation of the Compassionate Use Act in a Family Medical Practice, Seven Years' Clinical Experience" with Mariavittoria Mangini, PhD, FNP, published in O'Shaughnessy's, the Journal of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians. This article is designed to be a blueprint for physicians in making safe and appropriate recommendations. In 2004, he founded MedicalBoardWatch.com to keep watch on Medical Board of California actions against physicians who make medical cannabis recommendations. He is also founder of the Association of Independent Medical-Legal Consultants (AIMLegal.org), to give expert medical testimony for legitimate patients who use cannabis medicinally, and for responsible physicians who recommend it appropriately, both in California, as well as in other states. He lectures on medical cannabis, and practice standards, and is particularly interested in speaking to physician groups to increase the number of responsible physicians willing to make appropriate recommendations for this safe and effective medicine. Dr. Lucido is a member of Society of Cannabis Clinicians, and Physicians for Social Responsibility. Co-Founder of American Association of Cannabinoid Medicine (AACM) Ralph Trueblood has been growing marijuana for more than 40 years, of which 11 have been indoors. Ralph's organization "Bay Area Advocates for Medical Marijuana" grew, processed, and distributed medicine to more than 30 medical marijuana patients at no charge, over a five year period until funds ran out for that project. Ralph has also set up dozens of patient home gardens in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas using donated equipment and has given away several thousand marijuana plants for patient gardens from his warehouse. Ralph is a past member of the Oakland Growers Consortium and has served on the board of directors of the "Wo/men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana" for the past ten years.
