ABA Spring Conference: Overcoming Legal Barriers to Reentry

Submitted by dguard on
This conference will bring together policy-makers, government officials, business leaders, and community advocacy groups from across the country to explore ways in which they can together encourage successful offender reentry within their respective jurisdictions. Panels on the afternoon of April 30 will address employment issues from the point of view of people with a criminal record, and from the point of view of employers. Plenary sessions on the morning of May 1 will cover the legal and policy issues raised by criminal backgrounding practices, and the challenges for politicians wishing to implement a reentry initiative. Breakout sessions will follow in the afternoon. For more information and registration, see http://www.abanet.org/dch/committee.cfm?com=CR209800 (conference flyer online here.)
