Join Together, a substance
abuse project of the Boston University School of Public Health, and the
American Bar Association, have formed a joint national policy panel to
address the issue of discrimination as it relates to substance use.
The panel, which represents a cross section of the legal and judicial communities,
the scientific community, and policy leaders, is seeking feedback -- particularly
from persons facing such discrimination issues in their own lives (such
as loss of financial aid due to drug convictions, problematic access to
medical care, etc.) -- as it develops its recommendations.
