Update: Marc Emery
The article in the paper was so small I almost missed it. I guess no-one's particularly proud of this one. Mr. Emery not only got to serve his time in Canada, he managed to get his co-accused off the hook as well. He should do easy time here if he can keep his rather warped personal philosophy to himself. There's never any shortage of a cure for what ails ya in the big house so he'll be quite comfortable. If I could give him any advice it would be to keep a low profile and don't give them a reason to have any collections taken. Don't ask, don't tell. If he can do that, he could be out in as little as 10 months. He kept his honor and stood tall. Full marks for Marc.
Why are you here?
Comment posted by moxicat on Sun, 08/09/2009 - 2:14pmShouldn't you be over at the "Drug Free America" website extoling the virtues of prohibition and political prosecutions? (Because make no mistake about it, the DEA even admitted that they went after Emery to destroy his political and financil support of the legalization movement).
All I see is a one sided attack criticizing Emery - but what have you done to stop this war?
Fu(k the DEA; they're a hypocritical political police force, especially in this case.
Emery Pleads Guilty- Accepts a Decade in Prison
Comment posted by Anonymous on Sun, 02/24/2008 - 1:58pmSo where are all the rabid Emery supporters now that his majesty has pleaded guilty and accepted incarceration by his enemies for the next few years? They were noisy & hot supporting his fight against Babylon, the supremacy of personal freedom VS the rule of law, and a general care bear huggie stance for injesting poisonous plants// aka ethnogens as a new millenia religiopus awakening//
Well.. where did everybody go?
Surely, one incarcerated pot holy man of 10,000 worthies shouldn't stop the glorious 4:20 calvary from attaining their goddess given right to assert their botanical creedo over straight society... Come on.. don't tell us the stoner army is in retreat because they didn't get their way? Don't tell us the office staff of Babylon insisting a single international dope seed vendor slum hero that he must " go to your room " dissolved all stoner resolve?
Hmmm... and no angry comebacks yet at these posts either-- insisting we grow up and or learn the truth about controlled substances before sharing a viewpoint with the dope sissies who cannot cope with societal change/ yes.. societal change that maybe left stoner values far behind - human society in the 21st century is not exactly in favor of dopetopia,, the 60s did not prevail, either did the 70s.. or the 80s,, and culturally even the 90s are a long time ago.
Look to the right hand side of this webpage.. see who's advertisng here.. just look at who is sponsering this forum.. its commercial drug detox kit companies and professional quit marijuana therapist services.. and if you have any memory left you will recall they have been there for a long time advertising their services, picking up the dopetopia burn outs that fell off the liberation truck and doing their best to clean them up..
While 420 poster child Marc Emery pleads guilty for a second series of drug trafficking charges ( the first got him several months in a saskachewan jail ) his stoner fans do nothing.. nothging at all.....maybe its a good thing they actually do stop and reorient them selves to life after Marc Emery.. Who will be the first proud stoner to explore the social reality that has changed profoundly while you were not paying attention ?
Can anybody say "Ad

You certainly can't debate the issues on the failed drug war - so you attack Marc Emery?
So transparent. The drug war is a war on people, a war on families, a race war, a propaganda operation against the American people as well as people of other countries. The drug war is lie, a scam and a crime.

Emery Pleads Guilty
Comment posted by Anonymous on Thu, 01/17/2008 - 1:52pmMarc Emery tried to huff & bluff his way against everybody in his way for years but hit a wall when he big bad wolfed against the DEA. Facing thirty years or more for a variety of serious offenses, at the last moment his lawyers, working pro bono and a tired of Marc's obstructive huffy stance, strongly suggested he accept the plea bargain...Marc is in business...he can count- & knows how long 30 years is( 2008- 2038 ) so he made dramatic gestures that he will accept the plea bargain. This means he has to act fast, sign the surrender document and agree to having the Feds take every asset he owns and every penny he owns. Then surrender and go to jail for the time agreed upon.
This will be his second guilty plea before going to jail for recent cannabis offenses, so he knows the score and the ropes. This will be his second sentencing for selling seeds as well. Marc Emery is a remorseless repeat offender. This gets him brownie points amongst the 420 people but this seriously works against him in the justice system he spends so much time getting spanked down in.
Now as of this writing, the deal has not been accepted. It can be overruled at any time by either Canadian or American Supreme Court Judges and Emery can be dealt with as these courts so wish. And let's face it: Emery has acted like a complete asshole sassing these same courts in public. This is gonna cost him--big.
And surrendering to the US government to save his co-accused Michelle from jail? Who really believes that? She may have a serious medical condition but she is not about to die from it. She uses marijuana to attain relief but that's her choice....A 30 year stint in a US jail? She will not be handed marijuana for free in America like she gets it in Canada but it's available on the black market in jail, just like everywhere else in America. Michelle looks rosy cheeked, chubby & fine in all the photos and videos we see of her. She was healthy enough to show up to work laundering money for Marc Emery every day for years. So Martyr Marc's crocodile tears of signing the surrender document "to save Michelle " is not credible at all. He will sign the plea bargain deal to save his own skin...
Besides, when you get three desperate people testifying against each other at an extradition hearing, they are going to say things that will incriminate each other, their customer base they made their money from, and the 420 movement who for the most part have abandoned them...
Marc Emery took the plea deal rather than witness a host of rotten behaviour by his co-accused in court...where his enduring legacy as the Prince of Pot would be compromised by reality... and to save himself the heartache of listening to just how much the DEA knew about his activities for so long...the complete records of his seed sales, his dealings with the 420 captains, his wonky love life, his cold blooded greed, the progressive degeneration of his brain from dope and self worship.
The main reason Marc Emery was pulled down was so that Vancouver could clean up their dope filthy city in time for the Olympics in 2010. With idiots like Emery thunder-stealing the Olympics and installing wipe-head prerogatives, that sweep would be that much harder.
Any way you cut it - Emery is out of service now and headed to a jail cell to cool his heels for many years. While he is gone, his empire will fall apart, his magazine will tumble and the War on Drugs, which Mr. Emery was largely responsible for bringing into Canada, will wind down.
You knew it was coming, cannabis remains a controlled substance--Marc Emery tried to keep it out of control and, well, he failed. Big time.
