Errata:
Drug
War
Race
5/3/02
DRCNet's report last week
on the NYC Drug War Race was written at the last minute, and a few errors
crept into it by mistake:
1) The correct event title
was "DRUG WAR! Race and Party."
2) The line "stopping for
the required marijuana and incense purchase" was incorrect. The DRUG
WAR! Race did not involve illegal activity of any kind. The actual
requirement was the purchase of a cheap tobacco cigar known as a "blunt."
3) Valerie Vande Panne's
correct quote was "In 1988, Congress passed a law saying we would be drug-free
by 1995." We accidentally typed "1998."
