It seems a study done by a professor at U Vic. showed the presence of the hep C virus on one stem on One of 22 crack pipes shared by 51 users .The Vancouver Island health authority now intends to dispense the makings for clean pipes to addicts on the Island. The local(Vancouver Province)opinion editor thinks this is a waste of the taxpayers money. The opinion editor is always the first person to jump all over drug war policy but just can't seem to get a handle on harm reduction. How anyone can think someone deserves hep C is beyond me.It's like the big rant about steroids in major league baseball.Did they miss the fact that athletes used to chow down on sheep(ram)gonads before performing in the first Olympic games? This is a matter of personal choice. If the taking of steroids was legal it would be monitored or dis-allowed .There are clinics in which the use of HGH is carefully monitored and measured and to this point, with only positive results.I know there are numerous and ugly results from the abuse of steroids. The abuse of anything is a bad thing. It's time Big Brother took a look .1984 is in the distant past.I sincerely hope the time when people feel the need to pass laws governing personal choice, absent of any harm to others, will see it's end.

Vancouver police reported the cities 21st homicide today.Although the victim was found, slumped over in his older model Cadillac,in an alley,With a bullet in his head.Police refused to call it another gangland slaying. When the name's released it will be interesting to find whether or not there's any relation to the recent "major" drug bust. The 45 year old victim may be the first in a war for control of the pieces of a large network left leaderless by the recent bust.
