An illegal domestic spying program
Government-sponsored torture
Government intrusion into private matters

Think it could never happen here? Think again.

Today ordinary Americans are subjected to illegal surveillance, including wiretapping of phone calls and emails; prisoners are illegally detained in Guantánamo Bay; and recently it has been reported that the National Security Agency is secretly gathering the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans, without a court order.

We have also witnessed an increased hostility towards personal and private matters, with attacks on the rights of same-sex couples; assaults on the ability of women to make independent decisions about their reproductive health; and efforts to erode the Constitution's guarantee of religious liberty for everyone.

It's time to stand up against the government's flagrant abuses of power.

Join the ACLU on October 15-17 to
Stand Up for Freedom and Stop the Abuse of Power.

At the Membership Conference, you will:

  • Voice your concerns about abuses of power to Members of Congress during Hill Visits.
  • Attend sessions featuring nationally known speakers and ACLU clients and participate in smaller workshops for activist training.
  • Network with likeminded people who are concerned about threats to civil liberties.
  • Stay at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel
