For the past seven years the Louisville Late Night TV Show has been celebrating the past, present and ongoing profound contributions of Dr. Lester Grinspoon, M.D to medicinal cannabis with our annual Louisville “Lester Grinspoon Day.” We welcome you this year and every year henceforth to join us in celebrating “Lester Grinspoon Day!” Please consider suggesting that your associates mark their calendars for this annual event. Whatever form “Lester Grinspoon Day” may take in the future, our basic premise here at LLN-TV is that meaningful change is the result of increased insight and understanding. Highlighting the life and work of Dr. Grinspoon can only help further our common goals and values as more and more people are able to set aside disinformation rhetoric and take action accordingly. In a speech Dr. Grinspoon once gave, perhaps you recall, reference was made to his life before and after experiencing cannabis: “BC, Before Cannabis; AD, After Dope.” This revelation may not so easily be fully appreciated by some, yet it rings a deeper truth which we all know in our hearts: the gift of cannabis. Because each of you in your own way have already over the years both learned from and passed on the legacy and insights of Dr. Grinspoon, your interest, involvement, and communication about “Lester Grinspoon Day” is most appreciated. Here in Louisville recent “Lester Grinspoon Day” celebrations have included: discussion and revelry with the Libertarian Party of Kentucky at their annual Kentucky State Convention and interviews with Dr. Grinspoon on the Louisville Late Night TV Show (including last year’s excellent show created by NY documentary producer Danielle Franco). This year we are delighted that Robin Fisher of Louisville’s Public Radio Partnership radio station WFPL will be conducting an interview with Dr. Grinspoon in conjunction with our 8th annual “Lester Grinspoon Day.” The interview will air during the 10:00 a.m. hour on State of Affairs, Sunday, June 22 on 89.3 FM.
