3 dead 2 wounded

It's been quite the weekend in Metro Vancouver. There was a killing and a wounding on Thursday outside a strip club in the downtown core .Police say it was a gang shooting. On Friday a man driving in Burnaby was shot and died either from the gunfire or the accident when his car hit a building. His girlfriend was following behind and was also shot. She is expected to recover.Police say it was probably gang related.A 40 year old man was found dead on the steps of his home, also on Thursday.I suppose the police will say it's gang related as well. This latest spate of gun play is another fine example of how prohibition works in our city. The gangs seem to hit whomever they choose whenever they please and the cops just tell us it's gang related as if that means no-one should worry.I dealt heroin in this city for 35 years and was involved in only two gun incidents where weapons were discharged.I used to know who was doing what to whom at all times but I have no clue what goes on here now. It's pretty obvious that this is no longer an open city where anyone can deal drugs if they feel the need. These are turf killings and a lot of people are dying.I cannot understand how anyone can watch what's going on and say that this makes any kind of sense. How many deaths is too many?I guess we'll find out.
