i have lived in lake city for 32 years and have finally left lake city.because my 4 yr old sons dad has done nothing but come around and fight with me and follow me come to my house in the middle of the night and i could call them and nothing would be done for me....because i dated a black man and this 3 red light town is a joke we live in 2007 not 1800's so they felt as he wasnt doing anything wrong and since when is it not against the law to shout things and call people names and really talk nasty to u in front of the law and i will name them mitch wade grew up with my son's dad and let him cuss me in public when the department was investgating me for bother them well it happened at the sonic.and he could do anything he wants i have called them a bunch of times and when i go to get reports so i can get a order of protection against him they have none from me but have to from him sayin im doing drugs and to do a well check and they will see....boom guess what people on drugs dont sleep and when they came to my home we was in bed at 12:30 a.m. they made me wake my 4 yr old and make him walk around the home to make sure he o.k. but here is the topper the officer that came was the one and only married to the drug head herself that dont take care of her son.u need to clean ur on home before u try to clean someone elses. i no longer live in lake city my 12 yr old son fell in a water meter that had no lid on it. he got hurt really bad. so u guys need to clean ur town up cause it needs it bad. the same dad i'm speaking of was following my sister around last week and she went to them and they did nothing. he can take my son and not return him but thats o.k. because they say it is. i did smoke pot but i'm now going to rehab.as for matt childs u guys need to leave him alone he is really tryin and we now how lake city is they like to talk about people.as for me i wish matt the best with his life u keep it up cause i knew u had it in you. me i'm takin life one day at a time and leaving was the best thing i've ever done.................................................jenny smith

i completely agree this town should be turned over to the county, cause it
sure needs help. Lake City Police Dept is a joke. Their is suppose to be a law in this country about dad and moms taking children and not returning them at the end of their scheduled visitation. I think something should be done about these cops that have children and one or the other is a drug addict.

YOU TWO NEED TO LEAVE LAKECITY FOR REAL. MAYBE YOU NEED TO BE CUSSED. JUST DONT COME BACK,AND KEEP YOUR BASTARD SON AWAY TOO.

i would like to know what are these people talking about. i mean we should really be concerned about John Cena's injury.oh yeah i posted the last comment with my friend and i would like to say for the record that i did not have any sexual relations with that man. i may have put the apparatus to my lips but i didn't inhale. but back to main topic, lake city is a good place to live. i have been pleased with the way things are run like the new steam spa. i mean people see to get mad at the way things are run but you just can't give a guy the death penalty for showing up with his son 3 hours after visitation. this town is a great place to live. people may get mad at this town for their misfortune but they seem to forget why they have that bad luck. and i also think that if you think that this town owes you something then you moving is the first step to cleaning up this town and cleaning yourself. i also want to say that if you think this town is a joke then you need to get out because obviously you are not satisfied with the way it is run and if you don't like then meet me at the carwash. (it's going down). and for the record if you wanna get online and call people drug addicts then that calls for slander. i also believe that you shouldn't call people drug addicts whenever you might be one yourself. listen i don't like the drug addicts in this town either but you can't blame the cops for their problems and if you wanna blame them then tell your friends to quit making their job hell.i would also like to extend my thanks and gratitude to mike nations for straightening this town up and riddening it of evil. we should also pray for john cena. I would just like to say that yes there are drugs in lakecity but there are drugs every where lakecity is no diffrent then every other town in amercia thats the truth you all are just mad because you all have no life and your worst problems are worrying about other people mind your own bussiness and for you saying that people are prejudice agianist you because you dated a black man that is like a duh you are in the SOUTH hello wake up and smell the roses and quit picking on lakecity yes this town is little but i got news for you i lost my daughter this year and this town came together like a huge family and was there for me and my husband so back the F up

Hi. I am all too familiar with the way small towns and rural counties are run. I hesitate to say my county but I am in Tennessee. We have a police chief who was sent to the police academy 17 yrs ago to be certified. However, information came to light that he and the sheriff who sent him to the academy (his daddy, go figure, geeez) that both the sheriff and his son lied on the application. Now does this mean that since this dude was slick enough to cover up his scam for 17 yrs that he is somehow "grand-fathered" in? If so, can I practice law because I have filed a few pro se lawsuits? I am not going to post my name for fear of retaliation from the Van Wert police department,because the low lives that dont have the "right "last name have to fear them.I will say that I felt more violated and exploited by them than I did by the man that stalked me,broke into my home several times,in which all were reported.In 1997-1998 I had no one to turn to.I was basicly a prisoner in an apartment I rented.The man next door to me stole my identification birth records and credit cards along with my two sons birth certificates and threw all of these things into a fire in the basement of the apartment house,and in my apartment every cord to any appliance was cut with a pair of my own scissors all these things were done by a psycho next door,that wanted to be more than friends.When Id report these things the police would tell me to leave my home,instead of arresting the one who did the act and he was right next door!!!!So they are there to protect and serve those in need I wasnt a welfare mom,I pay taxe$ I havent had any faith in the police or any part of the judicial system since.I moved out of that place when i saved enuogh money,and the psycho still foound me .HE had theatend my life,and I again reported it they spoke to him at his place of emploment which was the at van wert newspaper .The next night when I returned home from work,I had a friend meet me at my home and we were waiting on another friend to get off of work and go out for awhile.March 28th at around mid night I heard a knock at the door thought it was my friend I was knocked to the floor and at this time the psycho was tearing up and trashing my home I was screaming get out! get out. Next thing I know I am in an ambulance with blood all over me.Several people called 911 that night and he was finally arrested.BUT its not over...He only get 6 months for an assult and he gets to walk to work everyday and I missed 2 weeks at my job ,and then I got hounded by the hospital to pay the bill i sued him in small claims for 1000.00 never saw a dime,WHAT KIND OF JUSTICE IS THAT FOR A SINGLE MOM ,all I can say that thats the kind of thing that makes people say Screw authority you werent there for me ...and by the way I am considered white BUT I have native american bloodline,I say this because its not always about race ...It has alot to do with M O N E Y $$$$$

Each of you better be really careful about what you post here. LE officers are sick and tired of being falsely accused of crimes and having their names and reputations defamed by idiots who can't stand authority figures. Officers are now becoming reminded that they have civil rights and are ready to start pursuing legal action against those of you who continually defame them so before you post something here, you better be sure you have your facts, have them documented and witnessed the incidents yourself or you will find yourselves paying for the damage you do to these men and women who risk their lives to protect you. If I were them, I would not respond to your 911 calls because all you cop haters are going to do after the fact is talk badly about them, especially if you didn't get your way. One L.A. officer has already successfully sued some chick who thought she could slander him and get away with it. I wonder how she liked paying out $5000 for lying and shooting off her mouth. Better make sure you have proof of your allegations because you are not as anonymous as you think on the internet and the allegations being made on this site and other like it are being researched for truth, so when these incidents are found to be untrue, we'll be looking for ya' to prove your story. When you can't, we'll be passing the info on to the officer(s) you've slandered. TTFN

Where are the "This Weeks Stories about Cops Who Were Beaten, Killed and who's Civil RIghts were tossed out the Window" stories? Why don't you create some balance if you really want to be effective. But that isn't your goal here is it. Your goal is to incite citizens against law enforcement because you yourself have issues with authority. If you created balance by reporting the millions of good things officers around this nation do each year, I would have some respect for you but since all you do is defame law enforcement and try to justify illegal behavior within your community, I haven't got one ounce of respect or concern for you and your biased website. But we'll be reading and watching for accuracy in what you post and what each of your posters write here. And when there is defamation, we'll be on it. After all, isn't one of the things you are so concerned with civil rights.
