Submitted by David Borden on (Issue #507)

Along with our weekly in-depth Chronicle reporting, DRCNet has since late summer also been providing daily content in the way of blogging in the Stop the Drug War Speakeasy -- huge numbers of people have been reading it recently -- as well as Latest News links (upper right-hand corner of most web pages), event listings (lower right-hand corner) and other info. Check out DRCNet every day to stay on top of the drug reform game!

Since last issue:

David Guard posts numerous press releases, action alerts and other organizational announcements in the In the Trenches blog. And please join us in the Reader Blogs too.

Thanks for reading, and writing...

This was the worst mistake that I have ever made.I was going to a great doctor in Southaven,Ms. which is 2 hour drive from where I live.Due to the price of gas I found a dr. in Tupelo,Ms. I have MRI's,everything that was needed to prove I needed pain management. I was treated worse than I have ever been treated in my life.I was talked to by this so-called dr as if I was lower that whale crap. In the past 12 years I have never been talked to the way this idiot talked to me.Now I am looking again. We as people who live in pain daily have to go through this because of the sorry low breded creepy idiots that sell their drugs or just go to get drugs for selling. For those people I hope they rot in hell. Diane Hatfield,Booneville,Ms

Your situation is unfortunate but I think you are targeting the wrong folks with your anger. Sure some people lie and steal to get pain meds they can sell but this is actually a relatively small number. The real problem is a federal government who has decided control over peoples bodies and what people ingest is somehow a part of freedom. Defies logic I know but there you have it and it is true in both political parties because the law and order mantra always generates votes no matter how irrationaly it is presented.
